Doha, 29 July 2018: Vodafone Qatar has ramped up for 5G with the first tests successfully conducted using spectrum in the 3.5GHz band allocated for 5G.

Vodafone Qatar’s engineers are already laying the groundwork for a 5G network at more than 50 sites in key locations across strategic cities in the country.

Following the auction which was carried out on 8th June 2018, TCRA hereby announces the successful conclusion of the auction of 2 x 20 MHz of spectrum in the 700 MHz frequency range.

All spectrum available were assigned, and the results of the Auction are as follows:

The trial will test and highlight the impact of IoT solutions for city residents and nearby services, businesses, and infrastructure.
