Chengdu, China, Sept. 03, 2019 -- China Mobile in Sichuan province and Huawei today launched a multi-dimensional 5G network in Chengdu, aimed at transforming the city into one of the world’s foremost hi-tech cities. The announcement was made during Huawei’s fifth annual Asia Pacific Innovation Day held in Chengdu.

Vodafone Limited (“Vodafone”) and O2 Telefónica UK Limited (“O2”) today announced that they have agreed to share 5G active equipment, such as radio antennas, on joint network sites across the UK. KT Corporation (KT) and Samsung Electronics today announced that they have successfully achieved 1 Gbps speed over the air using KT’s 5G commercial network deployed in Seoul, which has been providing 5G mobility commercial service from December 1, 2018, in collaboration with Samsung’s Networks Business unit.

[Shenzhen, China, March 7, 2019] Today, Huawei announced that it has filed a complaint in a U.S. federal court that challenges the constitutionality of Section 889 of the 2019 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). Through this action, Huawei seeks a declaratory judgment that the restrictions targeting Huawei are unconstitutional, and a permanent injunction against these restrictions.

Vodafone will launch 5G in 19 towns and cities across the UK during 2019.

(Mobile World Congress, Barcelona, 26 February 2019) Telenor Norway today announced Elverum as the first location for its 5G pilot with Ericsson. The mobile operator also revealed there will be 10 further collaborative 5G projects in Norway – and that soon, the next major city to get 5G will be named.

Telenor Group and Nokia will test 5G capabilities in both the Radio Access Network (RAN) and the mobile core network in Denmark.

Denmark will soon have its first life test of 5G - this is done with equipment from Nokia on Telenor's and Telia's common mobile network. The Qatari Minister of Transport and Communications Jassim Seif Ahmed al-Sulaiti has approved the amendment of the network rollout and coverage obligations of Ooredoo and Vodafone Qatar licences for the provision of public mobile telecommunications networks and services.
