Madrid, February 23rd, 2018.- Telefónica and Huawei have agreed on 4.5G evolution with first deployments in Bogotá, Monterrey and Rio de Janeiro. In this evolution to 4.5G, Telefónica is introducing 4x4 MIMO, 3C Carrier Aggregation (CA), 256-QAM and CloudAIR (Huawei’s proprietary technology) into its networks.

Swisscom customers will now enjoy the 5th mobile generation at the end of 2018, two years earlier than originally expected. The pace at which the latest mobile communication standard is developing has rocketed. Ericsson, Swisscom’s network equipment supplier, will deliver the first 5G hardware and software and implement it in the Swisscom mobile network this year.

Two radio cells in T-Mobile Austria’s network are already showcasing the future of communications. The systems in Innsbruck are the first in Austria and among the first in Europe to operate largely according to the new 5G standard.

BUENOS AIRES, Jan 31 (Reuters) - Argentina telecommunications provider Telecom Argentina said on Wednesday it would invest $5 billion in the country through 2020 to expand its network and improve infrastructure.
