Swisscom is intensively driving forward the development of 5G and thus supporting the Swiss economy and society with digitisation. Swisscom will launch two new access technologies for the Internet of Things next year – Narrow Band-IoT and LTE Cat-M1. The two access technologies based on mobile telecommunications supplement the existing low power network (LPN).

Vodafone UK has selected Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) to evolve its 4G networks in London and southern England using technologies such as Massive MIMO and Carrier Aggregation, which will help deliver improved capacity and end-user performance.

[Brasilia, Brazil, June 26, 2017] Recently, Claro Brazil launched the commercial 4.5G (4x4 MIMO+ Massive CA+256QAM) network in Brasilia in partnership with Huawei. The 4.5G network is the first network intended for commercial use in Brazil, and is expected to be the largest in the Latin America Region.

Turkcell and Ericsson completed Turkey’s first ever 5G test, achieving download speeds of 24.7 Gbps on the 15 GHz spectrum, the broadest available. The test was also one of the first in the entire world.
