TashiCell officially launched 4G LTE Service in Thimphu, Paro and Phuntsholing on 2nd April 2016. TashiCell deployed 4G under the Band 28, 700 MHz. as it is best suited for Bhutanese Topology. MTN Cameroon, leader of the telecommunications sector in Cameroon announces the launch of its 4G LTE network. MTN has become the first and only network in Cameroon to launch next generation 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology.

17 November 2015, Shenzhen, China – ZTE Corporation, a major international provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for the Mobile Internet, has been awarded exclusive contracts by Vodafone-Afrimax Group for 4G long term evolution (LTE) networks in Cameroon and Zambia.

Bhutan Telecom, trading as B-Mobile, has announced that operator will be launching the 4G LTE service in country on 24th October 2013. Initially 4G LTE service will be available only in Thimphu in selected areas.
