CAIRO, Egypt – November 1, 2018 – Etisalat Misr and MediaTek today announced the commercial launch of next generation voice & video calling technologies - VoLTE & ViLTE - for the first time in the Middle East and Africa regions.

At 00:40 Beijing time on December 11, 2017, the Alcomsat-1 Communications satellite was successfully launched for Algeria from Xichang Satellite Launch Center (XSLC) aboard a Long March-3B launch vehicle.

This decision by the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications (MINPOSTEL) is motivated by the fact that Northwave Sarl has renounced its status as licensed telecommunications operator by surrendering its entire capital to Afrimax.
