Vodacom’s first commercially available Narrowband Internet of Things (NB-IoT) network is now operational in Gauteng. Vodacom is the first South African and one of the first African mobile network operators to announce the commercial availability of its NB-IoT network.

Progresif Cellular announced today that they have submitted an official request to start a trial of their 4G network.

The application was filed with the Authority for Info-Communications Technology Industry (AITI) which kicks off a process, that subject to AITI approval, could bring Progresif’s first 4G cell sites online within the next three months.

Smart Axiata has announced the commercial launch of its 4G LTE network on 22nd January 2014, making it the first telecommunication provider of Cambodia to operate this latest and fastest way of accessing the internet over mobile.
