Overview

Solomon Islands is a sovereign country consisting of six major islands and over 900 smaller islands in Oceania lying to the east of Papua New Guinea and northwest of Vanuatu. While independent, the country is a constituent nation of the British Commonwealth.

Solomon Islands is a member of the ITU and as such follows radio frequency harmonisation principles according to ITU-R Region-3. The regulatory body governing communications policy is the Ministry of Communication and Aviation, and the Telecommunications Commission of the Solomon Islands (TCSI) is charged with regulating the country's radio frequency spectrum activities such as planning, allocations, and licencing.
