Overview

Tokelau is an island country and dependent territory of New Zealand in the southern Pacific Ocean. It consists of three tropical coral atolls Atafu, Nukunonu and Fakaofo.

As a dependent territory of New Zealand Tokelau is not an independent member of the ITU, however follows radio frequency harmonisation principles according to ITU-R Region-3. The regulatory body governing communications policy is the NZ Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE), and the NZ Radio Spectrum Management (RSM) is charged with regulating the country's radio frequency spectrum activities such as planning, allocations, and licencing.
