Company Overview
3 Danmark is the smallest and most recent mobile network operating in Denmark. Formed as a joint venture between CK Hutchinson Holdings (60%) and Investor AB (40%), the company began operations in October 2003. 3 DK is managed by the 3 Group.
3 DK operates common infrastructure with 3 Sweden, permitting customers to roam freely on both networks without additional charge.
The company has provided 3G UMTS over B1 (2100 MHz) since November 2006 and B8 (900 MHz) since 2012. The network has been upgraded to support DC-HSPA+ in 2012. 4G LTE services were commercially launched in September 2012 over B3 (1800 MHz), B7 (2600 MHz), and TDD B38 (2600 MHz), the first FDD-TDD network of its kind. 3 later upgraded the network to LTE-A late 2014, providing peak data rates up to 150 Mbps over 2C aggregation (CA_3A-7A), and has been laboratory testing FDD-TDD 3C CA.
