Company Overview
Kuwait Telecom Company, trading as VIVA Kuwait is a mobile carrier operating in Kuwait. The company is a fully owned subsidiary of the Saudi Telecom Company Group (STC) and began its commercial service in December 2008.
VIVA operates a 2G GSM service over 900 and 1800 MHz and 3G services on B1 (2100 MHz) which it upgraded to HSPA+ shortly after launch in January 2009, and again in April 2012 to DC-HSPA+. The company launched 4G LTE services in March 2013 over the B3 (1800 MHz) band, upgrading to LTE-A in September that year.
VIVA 5G Strategy
VIVA announced the implementation of 5G technology on its network in June 2018. Details have not yet been made available.
