Kazakhstan's first IoT network - Orion M2M

Orion Sistema LLP, with the trademark OrionM2M, has begun to deploy the wireless LPWAN (Low-Power Wide-Area Network) network of things on the territory of Kazakhstan.

The construction is conducted on the basis of equipment and software of its own production, using LoRa technology from Semtech. In January 2017, the company will complete the construction of the network in the cities of Astana and Almaty. The company plans to finish construction of the network in all regional centers of the country by the end of 2017.

The OrionM2M network allows the implementation of various business solutions in the Smart City area: Smart lighting, Automated energy accounting systems in the housing and utility sector, Safe City, Intelligent Transport and many others. Service providers will be able to provide their services in different sectors of the economy, not limited to geographical and infrastructural aspects. This will allow the companies of the industrial sector of Kazakhstan to substantially reduce the cost of production, opening the way to the world markets. At the same time, for state structures, this is an opportunity to create a favorable socio-economic atmosphere for the population in the shortest possible time.

OrionM2M focuses on providing high-quality services for the transfer, storage and processing of data from various sensors and devices, as well as the production of base stations and subscriber equipment for end users. The goal is to create the necessary conditions for the development and implementation of practical solutions to the Internet of things.

Director of OrionM 2M Fedorov Denis: "Two years ago, the potential of the Internet of Things concept was not fully disclosed. Technologies such as GSM, WI-FI, Bluetooth, satellite technologies could not realize the full potential of the Internet of things due to technical and economic factors. We came to the solution of the problem in a complex way, having organized a full cycle of production of equipment and software. This will allow us not to depend on foreign suppliers of equipment and software, which will lead to increased availability and lower service costs for end users. "

OrionM2M is a member of Acceleration Program Startup Kazakhstan, implemented by Almaty Tech Garden.
