Beeline, Huawei successfully demonstrate NB-IoT in Kazakhstan

Beeline Kazakhstan has successfully tested the communication standard for the "Internet of Things" NB-IoT (NarrowBand Internet of Things). The testing of the technology is realized by remote acquisition, processing and visualization of the meters of electricity, gas, water and other devices of the "Smart House".

NB-IoT uses cellular networks for data transfer. Due to new features of this radio technology, low power consumption of the end devices (meters, sensors) is achieved, which allows to extend the battery life of devices up to 10 years. The technology also supports a high degree of connection security between devices and the base station. This standard is licensed and protected in contrast to similar technologies that operate in an unlicensed spectrum of frequencies.

The system simplifies the implementation of such projects as "smart home", "smart city", "smart industry" and other progressive areas. Especially it is claimed in such devices as gas meters, water and heating meters, in personal trackers for children and animals, as well as devices that can not be permanently connected to the public network.

Commented on the director of corporate sales of Beeline Kazakhstan Rauan Kabdrahimov:

"This technology is suitable for everyone - for individuals, as well as for enterprises, government agencies and industrial facilities. In fact, NB-IoT is a digital ecosystem. That is the same thread that will connect the devices that need data transmission. Indisputable benefit to the state. Testing the NB-IoT network is another step in the preparation and support of the state program Digital Kazakhstan.

Today Beeline conducts final test tests NB-IoT for the Internet of things. The next step is to test the NB-IoT equipment within the whole city of Kazakhstan, which we have not yet determined", said Marat Auketayev , head of the development and business solutions department in the Internet of Things company of Beeline

NB-IoT testing is carried out jointly with partners: the Kazakh company is a developer and manufacturer of KazTechInnovations (nbiot.kz), Goldcard, Circuit Engineering and Huawei. The system is started in test mode. Anyone can get acquainted with the work in the open office of Beeline in Astana, at 10 Kabanbai Batyr Avenue.

The company "Huawei Technologies" provides support in setting up the network, as well as the IoT platform itself, designed to collect data and send them to device servers.
