Company Overview

Wind Telecom is a wireless broadband provider operating in the Dominican Republic. The telecommunications service provider began operations in May 1991 as Satellite Solar. After four years of planning and construction, Wind became a WiMAX operator in 2010 after securing a 200 MHz spectrum allotment in the 2500 to 2700 MHz range in mid-2004.

Following the deprecation of WiMAX, Wind announced the deployment of a B38 (2600 MHz) TDD-LTE network in June 2014 with the assistance of ZTE. The network went live February 2015.
