Overview

Sint Eustatius (known locally as Statia) is a Caribbean island and constituent country of the Netherlands. The island lies in the northern Leeward Islands portion of the West Indies, southeast of the Virgin Islands. The island became a special municipality within the country of the Netherlands after the dissolution of the Netherlands Antilles in 2010.

As a constituent municipality of the Netherlands Sint Eustatius is not a member of the ITU. In line with regulation of the Kingdom, Sint Eustatius follows radio frequency harmonisation principles according to ITU-R Region-2. Since 2013, the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets and the Radiocommunications Agency Netherlands (AT) are jointly responsible for the implementation and enforcement of telecommunication regulations in the Caribbean Netherlands
