Overview
Palau, officially the Republic of Palau, is an island country located in the western Pacific Ocean. The country contains approximately 340 islands, forming the western chain of the Caroline Islands in Micronesia. Palau is a presidential republic in free association with the United States, which provides defense, funding, and access to social services.
Palau is not a member of the ITU. The regulatory body governing communications policy is the Division of Communications, and the Palau National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority is charged with regulating the country's radio frequency spectrum activities such as planning, allocations, and licencing.
