Overview
Montserrat is a Caribbean island - specifically in the Leeward Islands, which is part of the chain known as the Lesser Antilles, in the British West Indies. It is a British Overseas Territory.
As a British Overseas Territory, Montserrat is not a member of the ITU. The territory however follows radio frequency harmonisation principles according to ITU-R Region-2. The regulatory body governing communications policy is the UK Office of Communications - Ofcom, and the Montserrat Info-Communications Authority (MICA) is charged with regulating the country's radio frequency spectrum activities such as planning, allocations, and licencing.
