Overview

The British Virgin Islands (BVI), officially simply "Virgin Islands", are a British Overseas Territory in the Caribbean, to the east of Puerto Rico. The islands are geographically part of the Virgin Islands archipelago and are located in the Leeward Islands of the Lesser Antilles.

British Virgin Islands is not a member of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) however as an overseas territory falls under UK governance who are. BVI follows radio frequency harmonisation principles according to ITU-R Region-2. The regulatory body governing communications policy is the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), and the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) is charged with regulating the country's radio frequency spectrum activities such as planning, allocations, and licencing.
