Company Overview

Zain Jordan is the largest mobile carrier operating in Jordan. The company began network operations as Jordan Mobile Telephone Services Company in July 1995 with the launch of the first GSM mobile services in the country. The company was rebranded as Zain in 2003 following its acquisition by Zain Group. The company remains a subsidiary of the Zain Group, a mobile telecommunications company founded in 1983 in Kuwait as MTC (Mobile Telecommunications Company), later rebranded as Zain in 2007. Zain has a commercial presence in eight countries across the Middle East with over 46 million active customers.

Zain Jordan provides 2G GSM services over the 900 MHz band, and launched 3G UMTS DC-HSPA+ services in February 2011 over the B1 (2100 MHz) band. The company launched the country's first 4G LTE services in February 2015 over B3 (1800 MHz), with a 20 MHz channel supporting up to 150 Mbps.
