Company Overview

Tele2 Казахстан is a mobile carrier operating in Kazakhstan. The company began operations in 2010 after acquiring local operator Neo Telecom. Initially a fully owned subsidiary of Tele2 Group, due to its small network size the decision was made in 2015 to combine operations with Kazakhtelecom's mobile division Altel under a joint venture agreement. The JV was completed in March 2016.

The company operates 2G GSM services over 900 MHz and 3G UMTS services over the B1 (2100 MHz) band. Tele2 launched 4G LTE services in March 2016 over the B3 (1800 MHz) band, along with integrating Altel's LTE network into its own which had been in operation since December 2012.
