Company Overview
Beginning operations in 2004, Teletalk Bangladesh Limited, operating as 'Teletalk' is the only state-owned 2G GSM and 3G based mobile phone operator in Bangladesh. Teletalk has established its network foothold in 64 Districts, 402 Upazilas, and most of the country's highways, however remains the smallest of the four mobile carriers operating in Bangladesh.
Like other Bangladeshi mobile carriers the company operates 2G GSM services over 900 and 1800 MHz bands, and activated 3G HSPA+ on B1 (2100 MHz) in October 2012. The company is currently working with Huawei in rolling out its 4G LTE network.
Teletalk has reportedly implemented a B1 (2100 MHz) 4G LTE network using a 5 MHz channel width in December 2018.
Having been awarded 60 MHz of 3.5 GHz spectrum in September 2021 the company announced the launch of a trial 5G network in December 2021 over the n78 (3500 MHz) band.
