4G LTE Frequency Bands
Company Overview
AzQTel is an Azerbaijan-based telecommunications company founded in 2005. It provides wireless internet, high-speed broadband internet, and other value-added services in Azerbaijan. The company launched its 4G broadband services in October 2010 under the “Sazz” brand name. These services are based on WiMAX technology.
AzQTel has been working with ZTE to develop a plan to migrate the network from WiMAX to the more robust TDD-LTE. The company holds 142 MHz of spectrum in the 3.5 GHz and 3.6 GHz frequency bands, which translate to B42 (3500 MHz) and B43 (3700 MHz) TDD-LTE. During trials in December 2015, AzQTel demonstrated peak data rates of up to 900 Mbps over TDD-LTE. In December 2017 the company announced plans to develop Gigabit TDD LTE-A Pro which it advertises as 'Pre-5G', using 4X4 MIMO and 256QAM.
