Company Overview

Established as a telecommunications operator in April 1999, Telkom is 60 per cent owned by Helios Investment Partners, with the remaining stake held by Kenyans through the Government of Kenya.

The company has provided 2G GSM services over the 900 and 1800 MHz bands since September 2008, and 3G UMTS over B1 (2100 MHz) and B8 (900 MHz) since September 2011. 4G LTE services began in June 2017 over the B20 (800 MHz) band using a 10 MHz carrier.
