Company Overview

Telenor Pakistan (ٹیلی نار پاکستان‬‎) is the second largest mobile network operator servicing Pakistan. The company began operations in April 2004 with its first GSM services going live in March 2005. Telenor Pakistan is a wholly owned subsidiary of Norwegian Telenor Group.

The company has provided 2G GSM services over the 900 and 1800 MHz bands since 2005, and in June 2014 launched 3G UMTS over B1 (2100 MHz) and later over B5 (850 MHz), both with HSPA+ data services. 4G LTE was commercially launched in August 2016 over the B5 (850 MHz) band, using a 5 MHz channel, and added a further 5 MHz of B3 (1800 MHz). It has been noted that some areas of Pakistan Telenor are only using a 3 MHz channel of B3 (1800 MHz).

Telenor Pakistan announced the successful implementation of VoLTE over its national network in February 2019.
