Solomon Telekom Company, branded as Our Telekom, is the incumbent telecommunications service provide in the Solomon Islands. The company was established in 1988 as a joint venture between Solomon Islands National Provident Fund (SINPF) who hold approx 97% ownership, and the Investment Corporation of the Solomon Islands (ICSI) who hold the remaining shares.
2G GSM mobile services began in September 1993 over 900 MHz, and 3G UMTS launched in December 2009 over the B1 (2100 MHz) and B5 (850 MHz) bands.
