UMS company carries out a phased rebranding. The mobile operator is updating its brand and brand positioning in accordance with new lines of business. In 2019, UMS will operate under the brand name Mobiuz.
Rebranding UMS is a necessary and expected step in the transformation of the company. After all, the UMS has received radically new directions and incentives for the development of activities. In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On measures for further modernization of the digital infrastructure in order to develop the digital economy” dated November 21, 2018, the mobile operator was tasked with the phased provision of the most complete coverage of the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan by connecting to the global Internet at the level of developed countries, ensuring the provision of all public services exclusively through the operator’s data processing centers.
The presidential decree "On additional measures for the introduction of the digital economy, e-government, and information systems in the public administration of the Republic of Uzbekistan" dated December 13, 2018 further expanded and concretized the innovative activities of UMS. In particular, the company, along with its current activities, has become an operator of public services, is introducing government mobile communications and a cryptographically protected first national UzChat messenger.
In addition, the Unified National Project Management Information System, blockchain solutions for the public sector, and digitized public services for the population are being created on the UMS platform. All this will make it possible to develop an e-government system, implement information systems in public administration, and implement a unified state policy in this area.
In such conditions, the rebranding of the company must meet new trends, carry values, meaning and ideological component and at the same time be easy to understand. With this in mind, it was decided to change the brand of the mobile operator UMS to Mobiuz. The rebranding began in December of this year with the development of the name, color identification and other parameters of the brand. Further rebranding will be carried out in stages. These steps will allow to “refresh” the brand of the company, give signals to the society about the new positioning. The new image will also serve to effectively identify the market and create a new image.
Thus, the year 2019 will be a period of practical changes for the mobile operator UMS, which will undoubtedly affect the subscribers and customers of the company only in a positive sense. As an operator of public services, UMS LLC will do everything necessary to maximize the satisfaction of the population’s need for digital services, high-speed Internet and accessible services.
