Movistar Argentina launches 4G+ LTE-A 2C service

Reaffirming its leadership and innovation in the provision of new connectivity experiences, Movistar proves itself as a pioneer in the country launching 4G+, an LTE-A technology that makes it possible to navigate up to two times faster. LTE-A employs Carrier Aggregation, allows the combining of several frequencies to achieve greater data speeds.

The service is already available in La Plata and Mar del Plata, and in later stages will be available to Movistar customers throughout the country. 4G+ is already available to more than 200 thousand customers of Movistar Argentina provided their device is capable of LTE-A 2C, combining B4 (1700 MHz) LTE with B28 (700 MHz).

To take advantage of the new service it is not necessary to perform any activation or differential management, since if the phone has this technology it activates automatically. In addition, its use does not have an additional cost nor does it require a specific plan.

Movistar Argentina has invested more than 850 million pesos in the development of the new network.

Movistar was the first Argentine operator to bet on 4G technology since its launch, with sustained investments in a rapid deployment of this network. The company constantly adds value to this initiative, to continue bringing its clients the necessary tools so they can enjoy a new communication experience.
