Doha, 23 April 2019: Vodafone Qatar continues its leadership in driving digital innovation with news that it is making 5G technology commercially available with the  launch of its latest innovation- Vodafone GigaHome- the new home internet solution.  

Maxis has announced the launch of the first commercial Narrowband-Internet of Things (NB-IoT) service in Malaysia. Starting today, Maxis is activating its NB-IoT network in selected areas within key IoT market centres, which include Cyberjaya, Penang, Kuching, Putrajaya, Johor Bahru, and KLCC.

Viettel has installed the first 5G station in Vietnam on the roof of Viettel Center, Hoan Kiem District.

On April 9, 2019, Viettel announced a plan to improve 4G network quality. Technical solutions not only solve the problem of lack of 4G network in Vietnam, but also increase Viettel's 4G network speed up to 1.5 times faster now.

Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) has been selected by Batelco to commercially deploy 5G to enhance the digital lives of people, enterprises and industries across Bahrain. The nationwide 5G deployment will happen in phases in key locations.
