Singtel has achieved the world’s first 1Gbps mobile peak speed on Ericsson’s quad-band FDD/TDD Carrier Aggregation (CA) technology. This achievement will enable Singtel to optimize the usage of its newly acquired 2500 MHz spectrum band and enhance the consumer mobile experience.

The demo, conducted on 28 GHz band on millimeter waves, resulted in a download speed of 23.4 Gbps, the fastest connection to date using this technology in an urban context. Progresif Cellular announced today that they have submitted an official request to start a trial of their 4G network.

The application was filed with the Authority for Info-Communications Technology Industry (AITI) which kicks off a process, that subject to AITI approval, could bring Progresif’s first 4G cell sites online within the next three months.
