Smart Axiata has announced the commercial launch of its 4G LTE network on 22nd January 2014, making it the first telecommunication provider of Cambodia to operate this latest and fastest way of accessing the internet over mobile.

The manager of the National Telecommunications Company (Entel), Oscar Coca, announced that since April will integrate the technology 'LTE' (Long Term Evolution) to its network of Fourth Generation (4G) internet, with the purpose of increasing to six Megabits per second the speed of navigation.

TIM is reinforcing the coverage of the 3G network in the state capital with the use of the 900 MHz band, authorized to the operator by Anatel earlier this year. The project, which already benefits customers from 50 city districts with better quality of services, began in May, through the modernization of sites in areas that concentrate more traffic of voice and data. 

Bhutan Telecom, trading as B-Mobile, has announced that operator will be launching the 4G LTE service in country on 24th October 2013. Initially 4G LTE service will be available only in Thimphu in selected areas. 

The government of Bolivia has assigned spectrum for the provision of LTE services to state-run telco Entel and Tigo. According to a document from telecoms watchdog ATT, the government awarded two blocs of spectrum in the 700 MHz band.

In late February, as Convergencialatina informed, the country surrendered 1900 MHz spectrum for mobile services, a fact that surprised the market due to the long wait of operators (since 1999 there was no tender in the country) and compliance -not everyone expected – of at least one part of the frequency allocation schedule.
