SK Telecom (NYSE: SKM) announced that the company, along with Korea Transportation Safety Authority (KOTSA), successfully deployed 5G infrastructure in K-City, the country’s pilot city for self-driving. It is the world’s first 5G infrastructure-equipped test autonomous driving city.

North Korea’s only 3G network provider, Egypt’s Orascom, froze operations in the hermit kingdom last month, cutting off some 3.5 million people connected to its local Koryolink services. According to a report by Newsis, citing Japanese intelligence sources, Orascom is pulling out of North Korea due to the regime’s continuous nuclear missile provocations.

T-Mobile launched the NB-IoT test network for the Internet of Things (IoT), around its headquarters in Prague - Roztyly. In January 2018, this pilot will extend to Mladá Boleslav. This is not T-Mobile's first move in this area: the company has also been a technology partner for the SIGFOX IoT network for over two years, covering the whole of the Czech Republic.
