The release of the 700 MHz frequency band will help foster Internet adoption of things in the country, as it has greater signal penetration capacity and increases the coverage area. In an interview with CDTV, Eduardo Polidoro, director of IoT at Claro Brasil, explained that telco will update the network to receive the devices in a scalable way and that it is betting on the standard technologies LTE CAT-M and NarrowBand IoT (NB-IoT).
Claro Brasil, a company of the América Móvil group, is focusing on the connected car segments, smart cities and utilities to develop end-to-end solutions for the internet of things. The operator has set up an executive board to deal with issues related to the internet of things with the aim of creating products and services that can be marketed by the company.
