Company Overview

Unité is a mobile carrier operating in Moldova. The company was founded in 2007 as the mobile arm of state-owned Moldtelecom, the incumbent telecommunications provider operating since 1993. Moldtelecom was restructured in 1999 to become a JSC, however the Moldovan government remains as the sole shareholder.

The company does not provide 2G GSM services, instead providing a national 450 MHz CDMA network. In 2010 Unité launched 3G UMTS services over the B1 (2100 MHz) and B8 (900 MHz) bands, which was upgraded in April 2013 to a DC-HSPA+ service, providing up to 42 Mbps downlink. 4G LTE services were launched in October 2015 over the B3 (1800 MHz) band.
