Overview

Tuvalu Telecommunications Corporation (TCC) is the government-owned and sole provider of telecommunication services in Tuvalu. The corporation began operations in 1993, providing fixed line telephone communications and internet services to subscribers on each island and mobile phone services on Funafuti, Vaitupu, Nukulaelae, Nanumea, and Niutao. Apart from a few services operated by the ICT department and other government agencies, TTC owns and operates most the ICT/telecommunication infrastructure in the country.

The company provides 3G UMTS services over B8 (900 MHz) since 2014, from a tower traditionally utilised for 2G GSM until the service was deactivated in 2015. In partnership with US-based Alepo, and Blue Arcus Technologies, Tuvalu launched 4G LTE services reportedly over the B5 (850 MHz) band in April 2018.
