Company Overview

Tele2 is the smallest mobile carrier operating in Croatia. The company began operations in 2005, activating its first GSM services in 2006. Tele2 Croatia operates as a wholly owned subsidiary of Swedish Tele2 Group AB, who has operations in Croatia, Estonia, Germany, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Russia, and Sweden.

The company operates 2G GSM services over 1800 MHz and switched on 3G UMTS services over the B8 (900 MHz) band in 2009. 3G services were upgraded to HSPA+ in December 2010 and then to DC-HSPA+ June 2015. Tele2 launched 4G LTE services in February 2016 over the B3 (1800 MHz) band, expanding its peak DL data rate to 150 Mbps after receiving an additional 10 MHz of 1800 MHz spectrum in December 2014.
