Company Overview

TELE-POST is the sole telecommunications service provider and mobile network operator servicing Greenland. The company has a history dating back to 1925, becoming in its modern form in 1997 with the creation of Tele Greenland A/S following the merger of TELE Greenland and Kalaallit Allakkeriviat (Greenland Postal Service). The company remains wholly government owned to this day.

TELE-POST provides 2G GSM services over the 900 MHz band, and launched 3G UMTS in August 2010 over the B8 (900 MHz) band. 4G LTE began in Nuuk in December 2013 over the B20 (800 MHz) band, expanding to Sisimiut on March 28, 2014 and Qaqortoq in June 2014. In partnership with Ericsson and AK Montage, TELE finalised its national rollout of 4G in November 2018, hitting its target of 92% population coverage.
