Company Overview

Tattelecom (Таттелеком), is a telecommunications provider and mobile carrier operating in the Republic of Tartarstan, a federal subject of Russia. The company was formed in July 2003 following privatisation of federal telecommunications operations. While publicly traded, the largest shareholder is OJSC Svyazinvestneftekhim, a wholly state-owned company.

In July 2013 Tattelecom acquired SMARTS-Kazan (a division of SMARTS), the mobile carrier providing services to Tartarstan and began offering 2G GSM services over the 1800 MHz band. The company made Russian history when in June 2014 it became the first mobile carrier to launch 4G LTE in the entire Russian Federation, providing high speed data services over B3 (1800 MHz).
