Company Overview

Net1 Danmark is a mobile broadband provider operating in Denmark. The company formed in 2003 as Nordisk Mobiltelefon and has traditionally operated a CDMA-450 network providing internet connectivity to rural areas. Net1 is part of the AINMT group since 2009 following the bankruptcy of Nordisk Mobiltelefon. AINMT is an international telecommunications company. Its unique business model, with focus on low frequency bands, allows the company to offer wireless broadband to large geographical areas while maintaining an effective network infrastructure. The company is already well established in Scandinavia and has developed partnerships in Indonesia and the Philippines.

Net1 announced in November 2014 that it had engaged Alcatel-Lucent to upgrade its aging CDMA network to a B31 (450 MHz) LTE network. The network was launched in August 2015, and by 2018 the company claimed to have achieved 98% LTE coverage providing data rates of 5 to 10 Mbps.
