MegaFon Tajikistan is a telecommunications company operating in Tajikistan. It is a subsidiary of the Russian company MegaFon, which was originally known as North-West GSM. MegaFon was established on June 17, 1993, and rebranded from North-West GSM to MegaFon in 2002 following the acquisition of several regional companies. Major international investors included Scandinavian companies Sonera (Finland), Telia International AB (Sweden), and Telenor Invest AS (Norway). In 2009, MegaFon rebranded TT mobile CJSC, a subsidiary that provided telecom services under the brand of MLT – "Mobile Lines of Tajikistan". The newly named company became MegaFon-Tajikistan. This marked the expansion of MegaFon's operations into Tajikistan. MegaFon itself is owned by USM company, belonging to Russian billionaire Alisher Usmanov.
