Iliad Italia S.p.A. is an Italian telecommunications company and a wholly-owned subsidiary of the French group, Iliad S.A. The company was established in 2016 and began operations in 2018. It is the fourth mobile operator in Italy, providing 3G, 4G and 5G network coverage. The company's network is composed of roughly 16,200 active site nodes, with a mix of owned and joint venture sites. Iliad Italia's network implementation has benefited from agreements with Wind Tre for national coverage, as well as agreements with Cellnex and INWIT for antenna installation on their towers. The company is using telecommunications equipment from CommScope, and is collaborating with Cisco Systems and Nokia to implement a national network in Italy based on segment routing and to achieve its 5G network.

      5G Network

      Following Italy's October 2018 5G spectrum auction, Iliad was awarded three allotments in the below bands for a total of €1,193 million:

      • 10 MHz in the 700 MHz band;
      • 20 MHz in the 3.6-3.8 GHz band;
      • 200 MHz in the 26.5-27.5 GHz band.

      The network was launched in December 2020.
