Company Overview
GTT Plus is a mobile network operator servicing Guyana. Telecommunications in Guyana were traditionally managed by state operator Guyana Telephone & Telegraph Co. In June 1990, the Government of Guyana (GOG) and Atlantic Tele-Network (ATN) signed an agreement that would create a private company, GTT. ATN purchased 80% of the issued share capital and the GOG retained 20% of the company until selling its residual stake to Chinese Datang Telecom Group.
The company provides 2G GSM services over the 900 MHz band, and launched 3G UMTS with HSPA+ data services over B5 (850 MHz) in May 2016 which at the time was branded as a 4G network. True 4G services began in March 2017 with the launch of the country's first LTE network, over the B28 (700 MHz) band.
