Company Overview

Etisalat Egypt (اتصالات مصر) is a mobile network operating in Egypt. The network launched in May 2007, following a USD 1.2 billion network construction in partnership with Ericsson and Huawei. Etisalat Egypt is a wholly owned subsidiary of Etisalat Group.

Etisalat Egypt is one of 16 service providers managed by Etisalat in the Middle East, Asia and Africa. Etisalat group currently has access to a potential market of just below 1 billion subscribers and today Etisalat services over 130 million subscribers including the total number of fixed-line, Internet, mobile and television from each of its subsidiaries.

The company has provided 2G GSM services over 900 and 1800 MHz, and 3G UMTS over B1 (2100 MHz) since inception. Etisalat's 3G network was upgraded to HSPA+ in June 2009 and DC-HSPA+ in May 2010. Etisalat received its 4G LTE licence in October 2016 with commercial launch in September 2017 over a 10 MHz channel in the B3 (1800 MHz) band.

In November 2018 Etisalat Misr announced the successful implementation of VoLTE and ViLTE technology nationwide in partnership with Taiwanese MediaTek.
