Company Overview

The Company was established as a limited company in August 1989 by Bencharongkul family to provide wireless telecommunications services in 800 MHz and 1800 MHz frequency bands under a “Build-Transfer-Operate” concession granted by CAT Telecom Public Company Limited (formerly known as Communications Authority of Thailand, “CAT”).

In 2012, dtac Trinet, a subsidiary of the Company, obtained the spectrum license for mobile telecommunications in the Frequency Band 2.1 GHz from the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) and provides service on 2.1GHz in 2013. This was later refarmed to 4G on May 10 2014.

dtac later refarmed 1800 MHz to deploy 4G LTE in October 2015. In July 2018 dtac entered into an arrangement with Telecommunications of Thailand (TOT) to use its 60 MHz of 2300 MHz spectrum in order to implement it's TURBO service. The service provided 4x4 MIMO with 3C aggregation using Nokia's AirScale platform, later aggregating with the company's lower band carriers.

The company began implementing B28 700 MHz 4G in December 2020 using its 2x10 MHz spectrum acquired from the regulator in June 2019. During 2021 the company began jointly deploying 5G n28 using its 700 MHz spectrum via Ericsson Spectrum Sharing.
