3G UMTS Frequency Bands
CYTA (Αρχή Τhλεπικοινωνιών Κύπρου) trading as Cytamobile-Vodafone, is a mobile network operator and telecommunications service provider operating in Cyprus. Established in 1961 as a state-owned enterprise, CYTA has offered mobile services since 1988, which it today offers under the brand Cytamobile-Vodafone after a partnership agreement was signed with Vodafone Group in 2004.
The company provides 2G GSM services over the 900 and 1800 MHz bands, and launched 3G UMTS over B1 (2100 MHz) in July 2008. 4G LTE began in November 2015 over B3 (1800 MHz), and later upgraded to LTE-A Pro in July 2017 offering peak DL data rates up to 525 Mbps using 256QAM and 3C aggregation of B3 (1800 MHz), B7 (2600 MHz), and B20 (800 MHz).
The company received permission from Cypriot state regulator Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works to conduct 5G trials in Q1 2019. The licence permitted the company to test networks over the 3400 to 3800 MHz band (n78) until November 2019.
