    4G Network

    In November 2017 ETECSA announced its intentions to begin 4G LTE trials, utilising spectrum in the 1800 MHz band, as well as frequencies in the 700 MHz range for more remote locations. Cubacel launched B3 (1800 MHz) LTE in January 2019, with a 20 MHz channel width and using a combination of Ericsson and Huawei base station hardware.

    Cubacel launched additional 4G LTE bands over B1 and B28 in February 2023, both with 20 MHz channel widths. An additional B8 service launched March 2023.
