Company Overview

Cellcom (סלקום) is the largest mobile network operating servicing Israel. The company was founded in 1994, the second mobile network to enter the region, breaking a monopolistic market dominated by Pelephone.

The company provides 2G GSM services over the 1800 MHz band, and launched 3G UMTS over B1 (2100 MHz) in June 2006 and following the deactivation of legacy TDMA services deployed a B5 (850 MHz) 3G service in 2011. 4G LTE began in August 2014 with the refarming of 2x5 MHz of B3 (1800 MHz) spectrum previously used for GSM.
