Company Overview

Telecom Cook Islands Ltd has been operating a mobile network in the Cook Islands since 2003. On the 23rd of July 2015,  Telecom Cook Islands Ltd trading as Bluesky Cook Islands launched the Bluesky brand in the Cook Islands.

Teleraro Limited, a consortium, led by the Bluesky Group, purchased a 60% interest in Telecom Cook Islands Limited from Spark New Zealand in February 2015. The consortium includes a Trust which holds 10% of the Teleraro shares on behalf of participating employees in Cook Islands. It also includes a Trust to hold 15% of the shares of Teleraro for Cook Islanders to purchase.   This is the first time that the people of the Cook Islands have been given the opportunity to directly participate in the ownership of the company.

Bluesky provides 3G UMTS services over the B8 (900 MHz) band, and 4G LTE services over B3 (1800 MHz) and B28 (700 MHz).

Luxembourg, 4 September 2017 – Bluesky Cook Islands, the sole provider of fixed phone, mobile and broadband services to the Cook Islands, has increased the amount of satellite capacity it is using from SES Networks, in order to launch 4G+ service to Rarotonga and Aitutaki, the two key cities of the island nation.
