Company Overview
BH Telecom is the largest telecommunication company in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Established during the collapse of Yugoslavia in 1992, BH Telecom was the first company in Bosnia and Herzegovina to provide 2G GSM and 3G UMTS mobile services. The company was a state-owned corporation, but was listed a public company in 2004 however most stock is still owned by the government.
The company, providing its mobile services over the BH Mobile brand, operates 2G GSM services on the 900 MHz band, and 3G HSPA+ service over B1 (2100 MHz). BH Telecom has been in the process of implementing 4G LTE since May 2013 in partnership with Ericsson and Nokia Siemens Networks, however to date the network has not been launched due to regulatory complications. As BH Telecom hold 2x 12 MHz spectrum allocations in the 1800 MHz band, it is expected that the company will launch LTE over B3 (1800 MHz).
