The Afghan Wireless Communication Company (AWCC) is Afghanistan's first wireless communications company and the founder of Afghanistan's wireless communications market. Launched in 2002 by Mr. Ehsan Bayat, chairman of The Bayat Group, AWCC provides LTE, UMTS, and GSM, voice, data, internet and mobile payment services to more than five million business and consumer clients, located in all of Afghanistan's 34 provinces. The Company has global partnerships with 425 wireless carrier networks in 125 countries.

The company has traditionally provided GSM services on the 900 and 1800 MHz bands, switching on its 3G service on B1 (2100 MHz) in 2012 which it upgraded to DC-HSPA+ in 2014, and more recently activated its LTE network on B3 (1800 MHz).
