Airtel Tchad

Airtel Chad is a telecommunications company that operates in the Republic of Chad. It is a subsidiary of Bharti Airtel Limited, an Indian multinational telecommunications services company. Bharti Airtel Limited was founded by Sunil Mittal in 1984, initially as a provider of push-button phones. Bharti Airtel Limited's international expansion began in earnest in 2010, when it acquired the African business of Zain Telecom for $10.7 billion. This acquisition made Bharti Airtel the fifth largest wireless carrier in the world by subscriber base, and marked the company's entry into the African market, including Chad. Airtel Chad, as a subsidiary of Bharti Airtel, is therefore part of a network that operates in 18 countries across South Asia and Africa.
